In 2004, I married Matt, the tall, goofy kid who used to sit next to me in Latin class in high school. (A little extra trivia? He used to copy my work and then try to make it up to me by selling me Blow Pops.) As impressive as his Blow Pop business was, we actually didn't date in high school. Instead, we became a couple towards the end of college and have been together for over 12 years now (married for almost 10).
Prior to becoming a mom, I worked as a recruiter for over 6 years. When I became pregnant with my son, Camden, I left my job to become a stay-at-home mom. I also started working (very slowly) towards my second degree, a BS in Elementary Education. When the kids start school, it'll be back to school for me too-- but this time, as a teacher.
Becoming pregnant with Camden wasn't exactly a wine, candles, romantic, let's make a baby! type deal. Ha-- not even close. We suffered through two grueling years of infertility, complete with medication (for me), injections (yup- me again), invasive testing (that was both of us), surgery (lucky me!), and finally, a small procedure that resulted in one of the two biggest blessings of our lives. Camden Miller was born on November 21, 2009.
For the next two years, we stayed busy with our active, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, adorable toddler. Just before Camden turned two years old, we started up the dreaded fertility treatments again, hoping to give Camden a sibling. When two treatments failed, the discussions about throwing in the towel began. We decided to take a month off from all of the doctor's appointments, injections, and ultrasounds. Imagine our absolute shock (and elation!) when we became that couple-- the one that gets pregnant during the month they stop trying. It still feels surreal to me.
Macey Jean was born on August 30, 2012. She is the perfect addition to our family.

Other things 'about me'? Let's see: I love Hokie football and the Washington Redskins. I prefer red wine over white. I'm addicted to Dunkin' Donuts coffee and sweet tea (because caffeine is a necessity with small kids!). I love country music (as long as it's not too twangy), writing, good books, learning how to be a good teacher, some terrible reality TV shows (Vanderpump Rules, anybody?), and I am completely and totally in love with this precious family of mine.
