Check out my Pinterest inspired projects this week:
The "Caught you being good" jar.
The idea behind this jar is to provide children with positive reinforcement. Instead of focusing solely on time-outs when Camden is misbehaving, I'm also using this jar as an opportunity to reward him and let him know I notice when he does something good (examples: being sweet to his sister, eating all of his lunch/dinner without complaints, cleaning up his messes, etc.). When I "catch" him being good, I stick a little happy monster (aka: a tiny pom-pom with eyes-- a fun little craft Camden and I made together) into his jar. When his jar is full, he's rewarded with a special prize.

The Accessory Hanger.
No explanation needed on this one-- it's just a cute DIY accessory holder for a little girl's room. I'm one of the least crafty people I know and I had no trouble putting this together. And it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. Now I just need my little bald girl to grow some hair so we can actually put some of these accessories to use!

My version:
The Family Wall.
There are a million different versions of family walls on Pinterest, but mine actually isn't Pinterest inspired (shocking, I know). I've had pictures on the wall going up my stairs for a few years, but recently my mom suggested adding some decorative mirrors and some letters. I love the way it turned out. The letters are representative of our first names & our last name. We'll keep adding pictures, of course.

I was a late bloomer when it came to Pinterest, too. And now I need to attend meetings. Hi, I'm Carli...
I love that you posted your versions of your pin-spired work! And I think it is great that you and Camden made the googly eyed monsters for his good behavior jar.
I love your family wall. I have been thinking of doing one, too. And I also like the floating shelves idea for the stairwell/behind couches. I need to start doing some of my decorating pins...I just need to make up my mind first!
Keep up the good work!
I just didn't understand the appeal at first. It all seemed so overwhelming. You definitely have to ease your way into it, I think!
