We decided it was time for an updated family photo shoot, so who better to call than my talented sister, Lauren? (If you're local, you can find her FB page here)
So, before you look at the pictures, let me set the stage for you. Even though I knew all day long that we were going to be doing a photo shoot that evening, I still somehow managed to be running behind (I think that's just part of life when you have 2 kids, right?). Then, as we were almost ready to leave, Camden accidentally fell on Macey and she started screaming her head off. I finally managed to calm her down and we started to head for the door. Suddenly, Macey started freaking out while looking at me. I was holding her and she was trying to wiggle out of my arms. I put her down and she ran away, while looking back at me, clearly terrified. I was baffled. Did she not like that I had curled my hair? Did I look that different in a dress? I tried picking her up again, but she wasn't having any of that. Finally, I figured out what the culprit was: my big, dangly earrings. Sure enough, when I took them off, she ran right over to me and moved my hair to double check my ears and make sure the big, scary earrings were gone. I changed them out for my typical small, silver studs and all was right with the world again.
Until we got the location of the photo shoot. It was outdoors at a beautiful park that had a lot of stone stairs. Well, Macey just happens to love stairs. I guess because ours are gated off at home, they're like a novelty item for her. All she wanted to do for the entire photo shoot was run up and down the stairs. She literally writhed and yelled anytime we picked her up. I'm pretty sure I was sweating by the end of the shoot.
I walked away feeling like there was no way in the world any decent pictures came from that photo shoot. I was wrong. You can see the evidence below. What felt like a chaotic, stressful photo shoot yielded beautiful, peaceful looking photos. That's all a credit to Lauren's talent, because I know for sure we weren't easy subjects that day!

Beautiful!
Such great pictures! I wish we lived closer so she could take our family pictures! I always seem to run late for things like that these days...it is the kids for sure! Funny about the earrings! Aedan always looks at me weird when I have my hair down or I am dressed in nicer clothes (you know, not work out clothes or yoga pants.) Ha!
I absolutely LOVE these pics! and it is soo sweet how much the kids look like you and Matt. I miss you so much! You are a beautiful mama :)
Thanks for the sweet shout out. :) I'm glad you like the photos.
